Cobleskill- J. LeRoy "Bob" Stinover, 86, formerly of North Grand Street, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Sharon Springs Manor Home for Adults where he had been a resident for the past seven years.
Mr. Stinover was born July 9, 1920 in Patria, Town of Fulton, and was the son of LeRoy and Bertha (Mattice) Stinover.
At one time he was a knitter at Fenimore Fabrics in Cobleskill and later was employed in the maintenance department for Kravco Company of Colonie, NY
He was predeceased by 4 sisters: Kathryn Magee, Elsie Larkin, Dorothy Mickel, and Marjorie Tillapaugh, as well as a nephew, Albert Mickel.
Survivors include 3 nieces: Inez (Warren) Boggs of Cobleskill, Louise (Frank) Decker of Cobleskill, and Eleanor (John) Osterhout of Orange City, FL.; and 6 nephews: Alfred Magee, Sr. of Cobleskill, Francis (Barbara) Larkin of Esperance, David Tillapaugh, Carl (Susan) Tillapaugh, and Stuart (Mary) Tillapaugh all of Carlisle, and Bruce (Donna) Tillapaugh of Perry, NY
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill. Officiating will be Rev. Laurel Phillips of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from noon to 1PM on Wednesday. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
