Cobleskill- Ivy "Marie" Stanton, 84, of Mohawk Drive, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a brief illness.
Born July 19, 1932 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of Otto and Anna Mae (Parker) Ringler.
Marie was a farmer's wife, assisting in the daily operations of the Stanton Farm, and she continued her interest as her sons operated their farms. Later she worked for twenty-eight years as a cook and baker at the Dairy Deli in Cobleskill. Following retirement, she enjoyed sharing her baked and cooked goods with family and friends. She also loved to read in her leisure time.
Marie was a member of the Barnerville United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Kenneth, predeceased her on August 10, 1995.
Survivors include her children: Nancy Hogeboom of Cobleskill, Alice (David) Antis of Gloversville, Susan (Anthony) Signoracci of Halfmoon, Lori (Scott) Brown of Cobleskill, Kenneth (Juanita) Stanton of East Cobleskill, William (Carol) Stanton of East Cobleskill, George (Barbara) Stanton of Cobleskill and John (Debbie) Stanton of Cobleskill; her siblings: Beatrice Jacobson of Chelmsford, MA, Kenneth Ringler of Gloversville, Clarence Ringler of Tallahassee, FL, and Carl Ringler of Niskayuna; 24 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2017. A private funeral service and burial will take place for the family.
