Irene Veselitza

Richmondville- Irene Veselitza, 89, of Boughton Road died May 8, 2020 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

Born August 30, 1930, she was the daughter of Clarence and Catherine (Mueller) O’Leary.

Irene was a hard-working woman who owned and operated the Brookside Hotel in Richmondville in the 1970’s. After leaving the Brookside Hotel she worked for the Yardstick in Cobleskill for many years.

In her free time, she would be quilting or sewing and when she wasn’t working on a quilt or sewing, she was gardening.

Irene is predeceased by her husband, Carl P. Veselitza who died in 1972, her son, Matthew S. Veselitza in 2005 and her brother, Robert O’Leary of Texas.

Irene is survived by her son, Wayne Veselitza of Milford, her grandson, Matthew Veselitza, her granddaughter, Shannon (Sean) Crossley and numerous great-grandchildren.

There will be no formal service per the family’s request.
