Irene H. Ferenczy, 71 of Maple Ave., died Saturday June 20, 2009 at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital, following a long illness.
Mrs. Ferenczy was born on July 9, 1937 in Franklin, NJ, a daughter of the late Irene (Suto) and Bela Beregszaszy. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1955. Mrs. Ferenczy worked as a legal secretary for attorneys Alford & Lyons, Roger Mallery and most recently for Michael Breen. She was a member of the Middleburgh Reformed Church and an honorary member of the Middleburgh Golden Age Club.
Mrs. Ferenczy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul, whom she married on January 28, 1956, two daughters: Susan Ferenczy of Middleburgh, NY, and Elizabeth Ferenczy of Lake Katrine, NY; two sons: Paul (Ann) Ferenczy of Albany, NY and Mark Ferenczy of Middleburgh, NY; two sisters: Molly (Wayne) Tillison of Franklin, NJ, and Martha (Dan) Lail of Schenectady, N;Y, her grandson, Ryan Hamm and his fianc?, Evelyn Sciocchetti of Albany, NY; four granddaughters: Amanda Ferenczy of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Kayla Ferenczy of Middleburgh, NY, Brittany Ferenczy and Nicole Ferenczy both of Cobleskill; her great-grandson, Caleb Helm of Cobleskill; three nieces: Connie (John) Cholminski, Sharon (Bill) Washer all of Franklin, NJ, and Robin Strange of Slidell, LA; three nephews: William (Joanne) La Barr of St. Cloud, Fl, Michael (Amy) La Barr of Ramsey, NJ and William (Beverly) Strange of Slidell, LA; several great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and a dear family friend, Tammy Ferenczy of Cobleskill, NY.
A Celebration of Irene's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday June 27, 2009 at the Middleburgh Reformed Church, River Street, Middleburgh. Officiating will be Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory in Schenectady, NY.
