Cobleskill - Mrs. Ina E. Grover, 99, formerly of Cobleskill and Albany, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Dutch Manor Nursing Home in Rotterdam, where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Mrs. Grover was born January 13, 1910 in Worcester, NY, a daughter of Emerson and Myra (Truax) Acker. She was raised in Cobleskill and resided in the Albany area most of her adult life, until moving back to Cobleskill in the 1980's.
Mrs. Grover had been employed at the former Community Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill as a cafeteria worker.
She was predeceased by her husband, William L. Grover, who died October 7, 1982 and a daughter, Dolores Messer.
Survivors include two daughters: Joan Robinson of Cobleskill and Rosemary Carney of Otego; two sons: Clarence Markel and Harold Bowers both of Englewood, FL; a brother, Leon Acker of Albany, NY; 32 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, with Rev. Donald Klob officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home from 10 to11 AM Sat., prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
