Huel Turkett

Huel A. Turkett, 82, formerly of Middleburgh, NY passed away on August 15, 2008 at his home in Greensboro, NC. Born in Rome, GA, he was the son of the late Agnes Hampton Turkett and the late Augustus Turkett. At the age of 12 he moved to Huntersland, NY.
Huel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and was stationed on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. He returned to Middleburgh after the War to be with his newlywed wife, the late Shilrey Sparrow Turkett, and the mother of his children.
Huel held positions with General Electric's Steam Turbine Division, Schenectady, NY; Pratt & Whitney Air Craft Division, West Palm Beach, FL; General Dynamics, Shoreham, NY, and Hancock's Bridge, NJ nuclear plants; and ATT, Charleston, WV before moving to NC. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
Huel is survived by his children: son, Dean (Dreama) Turkett of Hurrican, WV, and their daughter Holly; daughter, Cindy (Roy Hogeboom) Turkett of Voorheesville, NY; son, Glenn (Margie) Turkett of Riva, MD and their daughter Linsey; and daughter, Gayle Turkett of Clifton Park, NY; his wife, Linnie Breedlove Turkett of Greensboro, NC and sister, Stella Roda of Willoughby Hills, OH.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Middleburgh Cemetery, Middleburgh, NY on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 2 PM. THe family has requested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
