Summit - Homer A. Chase, 75, of Summit, NY, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi, NY.
Born May 14, 1935 in Blenheim, NY, he was a son of Millard and Alta (Van Valkenburgh) Chase. Homer had lived in Charlotteville prior to moving to Summit where he resided most of his adult life.
At one time, he had been employed at the Glove Factory in Richmondville and Alton Makely's farm. More recently, Homer had been a laborer on the Ward Family Farm in Summit, NY.
Survivors include his sister, Judy Rivenburg, of East Cobleskill; his companion, Connie Chase of Summit, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Alan Miller officiating. Friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 9 to 10 AM on Wednesday, prior to the service. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in Breakabeen Cemetery.
