Warnerville - Herberta (Herbie) Doris Scott Bell, born October 29, 1923, died April 11, 2011.

Born to Herbert Charles Scott and Ida Veronica Kile Scott in Schenectady, N.Y. Herberta graduated from Draper High School and continued her education at Mildred Elly School of Business.

She married John A. Bell October 5, 1946 and had two children. Herbie was predeceased by her husband in 1969. Herbie was a Library Clerk at the Cobleskill College Library for many years, a loyal member of the Warnerville Methodist Church, a literacy volunteer and a hospital auxiliary member.

Herberta is survived by her son, Andrew S. Bell (Susan) of Voorheesville and her daughter, Jacqueline A. Bell Schrom (Harley) of Selkirk. Also mourning her passing are her grandchildren, Genette Bell Hyjek (Felix), Mary Bell, and Anna Bell Ricchiuti (Steve), Kimberly Schrom Duquette (Joseph), Heather Schrom Mahar (Michael), Harley Schrom Jr. (Tara) and her great-grandchildren: Stephanie Lawrence Pinson (Tim), Dylan T. Schrom, Sierra L. Schrom, Alexis M. Schrom, Alan M. Duquette, Kassandra Duquette, Kylie Hyjek, Krystyn Hyjek, Rachelle Hyjek, Emily Bell and a great-great-granddaughter: Anysse Cooper.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Victor R. Zaccaro officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Interment will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
