Palm Coast FL: Mrs. Helen Zach, 89, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Middleburgh, NY, died Wednesday April 21, 2010 at her home, following a brief illness.
Helen was born on September 16, 1920 in Mt. Vernon, NY a daughter of the late Hilda (Richter) and Louis Miller.
Helen worked for the New York State Department of Education as an Auditor before retiring and moving to Florida. Helen went back to work part time in Florida as a Realtor after receiving her Realtor's License.
She was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Middleburgh and was also a member of the church's Rosary Society. In Florida, Helen attended Mother of Seton Roman Catholic Church.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Helen especially liked murder and mystery novels.
Helen was predeceased by her husband: Stephen Zach in 1974, her son: Stephen Zach in 2004 and her brother: Louis Miller.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Marilyn and David Schulmerich of Middleburgh, NY; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main St., Middleburgh, NY with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory in Schenectady, NY. Inurnment will be private, at the convenience of the family, in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
