Cobleskill - Helen Smith, 84, of Rte 145, Cobleskill, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at home where she resided with her daughter.
Helen was born April 29, 1924, daughter of Arkel and Margaret (Jones) Fancher in the town of Richmondville, NY
She lived in this area all her life and was a graduate of Cobleskill Central High School. She worked as a secretary for many years at Floquil Products in Lawyersville and at Schoharie County Head Start.
Survivors include her sister, Margaret Ann Lauterbach of Cobleskill, twin daughters Karen (Ralph) Chichester of Cobleskill and Pamella (Richard) Cronk of Warnerville; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Warren Smith in 1984, 3 daughters Polly Smith, Margo Smith and Linda Easley, 2 sons Robb (Paula) Smith and Douglas (Kathy) Smith and a sister, Nancy Gorman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 15,at the Barnerville Methodist Church. Private burial following cremation will be at the convenience of the family.
