Helen Guernsey

Helen McMillan Guernsey (1915 - 2007) died peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2007 after a brief illness. Sheldon Guernsey, Helen's husband of 57 years, passed away in 1995. Together, they are survived by their son Alan Guernsey, daughter Janice Stevenson, and their seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Helen enjoyed her life in Cobleskill, NY as a homemaker, and a loving wife and mother. She also volunteered her time to the community. The Finger Lakes were her summer home for over 30 years. She enjoyed boating, gardening, bowling and spending time with her family. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.

Helen is also survived by her brother Merwyn. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alice McMillan, brothers Stanley and Roger, and sisters Jeannie and June.

Helen will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 11:00 am at Mereness-
Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with the Rev. Jennifer Dyer of the
Zion Lutheran Church officiating. A calling hour from 10:00 am until 11:00 am will be
held prior to the service. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
