Cobleskill- Helen B. Fuller, 97, of Timber Lane, died peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2016 in her home following a long illness.
Born December 16, 1918 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of Jesse and Jennie (Blythe) Brown.
Helen was a lifelong area resident, graduating in 1937, third in her class, and honored to deliver the class graduation speech. She was a telephone operator and secretary for SUNY Cobleskill, retiring in 1985.
Helen was a 60-year member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church, joining in 1939 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years.
She enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren and sending cards to many people. Helen and Frank wintered in Florida for many years, enjoying the warm weather.
Helen married Harry Berard November 15, 1941 and he predeceased her on September 8, 1956. Three sisters: Charlotte Birdsall, Frances Arnold, and Thelma Bellinger predeceased her along with three brothers: Roger, Carlos, and Donald Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Frank W. Fuller, whom she married March 3, 1962; her three children: Jerry (Judy) Berard of San Leon, TX, Jack B. (Susan) Fuller of Litchfield, NH, and Nancy (Ron) Laniewski of North Port, FL; a brother-in-law: Fred (Sandra) Fuller; sisters-in-law: Glenda Kingston and Harriet Berard; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews from the Fuller, Berard, and Brown families.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Cobleskill United Methodist Church, 107 Chapel St., Cobleskill, with Rev. Pamela Mikel Hayes officiating. There will be no calling hours. Inurnment will follow in Zion Rural Cemetery.
