Richmondville- Helen E. Frasier, 99, of Cross Hill Road, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness.
Born December 21, 1913 in Antwerp, NY, she was a daughter of William Pitt and Flora Elizabeth (McFee) Adderley.
Helen graduated from Cortland College and then began her teaching career. For thirty-two years she taught 5th grade, retiring from the former Richmondville Central School.
Helen was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cobleskill. She was a volunteer for the Cobleskill Hospital Auxiliary.
Helen was an avid golfer, playing regardless of rain or sunshine. She passionately played with many wonderful local ladies as a member of the Cobleskill Country Club.
In October of 1938 Helen married Aubrey D. Frasier and he predeceased her in December of 1962. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Lillian A. Frasier, three brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her children: Sandy (Al) Lory of Richmondville and Lance (Karen) Frasier of Cobleskill; five grandchildren: Darin Lory of Middletown, Tish Lory of Raleigh, NC, Tighe Lory and Deign Lory both of Richmondville, and Patrick Frasier of Howes Cave; and eight great-grandchildren.
Helen was a kind and generous person. She loved the special people - Cathy, Natasha, Kim, and Wanda, who gave her such wonderful care and companionship.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Rev. Jeff L'Arch as celebrant. Family and friends are also invited to attend a period of visitation to be held at the church prior to mass from 12 PM to 1PM. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
