MIDDLEBURGH- Helen Campbell, 84, formerly of the Town of Broome, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.
Mrs. Campbell was born September 10, 1923 in Breakabeen, NY and was the daughter of Jasiah Mann and Effie E. (McKee) Bouck.
She was a lifelong Schoharie County resident and was an active member of several of the area Methodist Churches including Breakabeen, Fultonham, Middleburgh, and most recently Huntersland. She was also active with the 4-H Club, Girls Scouts, Grange, March of Dimes, the Broome Fire Auxiliary, Community Hospital of Schoharie County, and the Golden Agers Club.
Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by her husband, Bennett V Campbell, who died February 19, 1981.
She is survived by 3 children, Alvin (Marie) Campbell, Sylvia Butler (James) Merritt, Roxanne Specht, all of Middleburgh, 6 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, May 9, 2008 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY with the Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes, New York State Division, 80 Wolf Rd., Suite 106, Albany, NY 12205.
