COBLESKILL- Hazel L. Martin, 51, of Grandview Drive, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

Born May 9, 1963 in Niskayuna, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Mary (Hoover) Bloomer, Jr.

Hazel was employed with Visiting Nurses in Cobleskill for eight years as a home health aide. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, camping, motorcycling, and caring for others.

Hazel was a member of the Barnerville United Methodist Church.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers: Joseph and Thomas Bloomer.

Survivors include her husband: Raymond E. Martin, whom she married July 24, 1999; her children: Timothy J. Brown of Charleston, Shawn Brown (Erica White) of Warnerville, and Erin Martin (Chris Schofield) of FL; five grandchildren: Eliah Brown, Jacob, Jaelynn, and Jordan Brown, and Izabella Schofield; two sisters: Mary Ellen Baker of Schenevus and Mary Jane (Jim) Shafer of Charlotteville; three brothers: John (Jackie) Bloomer, III of Esperance, David (Dorothy) Bloomer of Texas, and Mark (Linda) Bloomer of Largo, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with Rev. Brenda Tompkins of the Barnerville United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
