Harriet Moore

Cobleskill- Harriet M. Moore, 86, of Lake Road, died Friday, September 23, 2016 at Capstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Amsterdam surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 13, 1930 in Hackensack, NJ, she was the daughter of Carl W. and Harriet (Duff) Dittman, Sr.

Harriet assisted her husband with the daily operations of Harken Farm until they sold it in 1975. She worked for many years in various capacities at Lancaster Development/Cobleskill Stone Products, finally retiring as a receptionist.

Harriet enjoyed bowling in the womens leagues, gardening, playing piano, sewing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Samuel Cootware.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth D. Moore, Sr., whom she married November 4, 1950; her four children: Kenneth D. (Sarah Dewell) Moore, Jr. of Cobleskill, Michael (Kathy) Moore of Cobleskill, Barbara Moore of Carlisle, and Timothy Moore of Richmondville; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Carl W. (Debby) Dittman, Jr. of Woodridge, NJ; one niece and two nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Deacon Gary Surman presiding.
Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the liturgy. Burial will be private in Bramanville Prospect Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, Middleburgh.
