Cobleskill (Schoharie County) Harriet Dargie Kenyon, 72, of State Route 145, died at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.
Harriet was born May 18, 1938 in Cobleskill and was the daughter of Kenneth and Esther (Johnson) Dargie.
She was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central Schools, a member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church, volunteered at both Cobleskill Regional Hospital and Eden Park Nursing Home, was a person who loved nature and to be in her flower garden, and loved the NY Yankees. She was a loving and devoted homemaker for all of her life.
Her parents and one brother, Douglas Dargie, predeceased her.
Harriet is survived by her husband, Charles Kenyon, whom she married on July 6, 1972, one daughter, Cynthia Ceniviva of Schenectady, NY, two sons, Michael Wheeler of Rotterdam, NY and Joseph Kenyon of Cobleskill, one sister, Sally Atkins of Virginia, two brothers, Donald Dargie and Leslie Dargie both of Cobleskill, 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Cobleskill United Methodist Church, 107 Chapel Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Pam Mikel Hayes officiating. Inurnment will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Hillview Section. Calling hours will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 from 6-8 PM, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY.
