Warnerville- Harold O. "Sonny" Blodgett, 83, went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2011.
Harold was born in Cobleskill, NY on July 6, 1928 to Harold and Anna (Stewart) Blodgett. He attended Cobleskill High School and served in the Air Force from 1947 to 1950, when he was honorable discharged. On August 2, 1952, Harold married his loving wife, Delores. He lived in Cobleskill and Warnerville the majority of his life and drove for Gulf Oil then Mirabito, retiring in 1983 and 1992, respectively. Harold enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors, and loved to spend time and travel with his wife and their close friends Gerald and Jeannette Mickle, and his sister, Donna Posson, and brother-in-law, Ken.
Harold is survived by his wife, Delores; daughter, Vanessa Norton (John) of Guilderland; son, Richard of Cobleskill; his grandchildren, Tom (Jennifer), Claire, Mackenzie, and Bryan; and his great-grandchildren, Ronan, Grace, and Kellen; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Virginia Martin (Walter) and Donna Posson (Ken); his son, Brian, and his granddaughter, Erin.
In accordance with Harold's wishes, his body has been donated to the Albany Medical College Anatomical Gift Program. Friends are invited to join family at a memorial service on Saturday, December 17, beginning at 10:30 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave, Cobleskill. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Association.
