Harmon Porter Jr, 51, of Baker Ave, died Tues. March 13, 2007 at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Cobleskill, NY, after a long illness.

Mr. Porter was born in Niskayuna, N.Y., on Aug. 1, 1955, a son of the late Harmon Porter Sr. and Agatha Swint Porter. He graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School in 1974. He was employed as a custodian at Middleburgh Central School before going to work as a custodian for Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School. He was an avid bowler and member of the Middleburgh Lanes and also played on their softball team. Mr. Porter was a member of the 700 Club and also a member of the Gallupville Gospel Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Cater Porter, who he married on March 6, 1997 and

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sun. March 18, 2007 at the Palmer and Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home, 134 River St. Middleburgh, NY. with Rev. Jim Wolford officiating. Calling hours will be from 1:00-3:00P.M., Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. A spring interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne, NY.
