Fultonham- Mrs. Hannah L. Maxwell, 86, of State Route 30, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Maxwell was born January 4, 1922 in Stoke on Trent, England, the daughter of George and Jemimah (Bath) Hulse.
She met Charles Maxwell, who was stationed in England during World War II, and they married on April 12, 1945. Later they moved back to the United States, where she continued to raise their children. Charles predeceased her on December 31, 1999.
While living in this area, Mrs. Maxwell was a volunteer for the former Community Hospital in Cobleskill.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Becker of Fultonham; 3 sons: Mitcheal Maxwell of Cobleskill, Brian Maxwell of Gulfport, MS, and John Maxwell of Oklahoma City, OK; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews all of which reside in England.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home 134 River St. Middleburgh with Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM, Monday, prior to the service. Burial will be in Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie, NY
