Middleburgh- H. Joseph Thorington, 65, of Main Street, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at Ellis Hospital following a brief illness.
Joe was born in Cobleskill on March 20, 1950 to the late Geraldine (Pickett) and Harold O. Thorington.

He graduated from Middleburgh Central School and worked at various locations, including John B. Skinner Chevrolet, Penn Dixie and General Electric.

Joe was a member of the Fraternal Organization of Eagles Aeries of Cobleskill # 2695.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved classic cars, enjoyed hunting and most of all visiting with friends at Kelley's in Middleburgh.

Joe was predeceased by his brother: Robert Thorington.

He is survived by his daughter: Lori Thorington (Stephen Uveges) of Delanson; son: Timothy (Colleen) Thorington of Howes Cave; sisters: Linda (Fred) Lawyer of Schoharie, Maureen (Bill) Price of Schoharie; brothers: Leland (Debby) Thorington of Scotia, William (Maggie) Thorington of Fultonham, John (Sherry) Thorington of Gallupville; grandson: Hunter Uveges of Delanson; granddaughter: Allison Thorington of Howes Cave; many nieces and nephew; stepfather: Raymond DeMolin of Schoharie; stepsister: Dolores (Dick) Shaul of Fultonham; stepbrother: Wayne (Peg) Ellett of Clifton Park.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, February 17,2016 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 5-7 pm, prior to the service. Spring inurnment will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Joe's memory are asked to be sent to the Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 817, Middleburgh, NY 12122
