Grace Sullivan

Schoharie- Grace D. Sullivan, 95, formerly of Middleburgh and South Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past two years.

Born May 15, 1916 in Huntington, Grace was the daughter of Hollis and Dorothy (Donaldson) Meinecke.

She was a resident of South Huntington most of her life and was a member of the Northport Baptist Church. In 1998, Grace moved to Middleburgh and then Schoharie to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She was actively involved in Bible study with her church and also enjoyed reading, needlework and loved to dance.

Grace had a gift of mercy, and is happy now singing with the angels.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel M. Sullivan III and a sister, Dorothy Turner.

Survivors include her three children: Carole (William) Zimmer of South Huntington, Daniel (Lillian) Sullivan of Middleburgh, and Wayne (Pat) Sullivan of Schoharie; and three grandchildren: Debra (Sean) Deery, William Zimmer III, and Steven Kubat.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Donald Hewlett of the Schoharie Valley Alliance Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 6 to 7 PM. Cremation will follow the service and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thurs., Feb. 16, 2012 at Island Christian Church, corner of Elwood and Clay Pitt Rd., E. Northport, LI with inurnment following in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
