Cobleskill- Mrs. Grace E. Grasso, 85, of North Street, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY, following a long illness.

Grace was born on December 26, 1924, in Creekstown, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Alma J. (LaTourette) and Frederick P. Huff.

Grace was a longtime Cobleskill resident and worked many places including General Electric, the former Cobleskill Dress Factory and as a waitress at the Hotel Augustin. Her most recent position was at SUNY Cobleskill as a Lab Assistant.

Grace was a former Girl Scout Leader and loved to cook and do word searches. She will be remembered for her love of whistling and her devotion to her family.

Grace was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Grasso in 1987.

Survivors include her daughters: Tammy (Chris) Biancucci of Cobleskill, N.Y., Cindy (Greg) Shuart of Cobleskill, N.Y.; granddaughter: Kari - Ann (Kevin) Sanford of Cobleskill, N.Y., grandson: Joshua (Crystal Andersen) Shuart of Cobleskill, N.Y.; granddaughter: Janelle (William) Sossei of Richmondville, N.Y. and great grandchildren: Kiersten and Joel Van Steele and Lindsey Sanford, all of Cobleskill, N.Y.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, N.Y. with Rev. Paul Ferenczy of the Zion Lutheran Church, in Cobleskill, NY, officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Monday April 12, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
