Gordon Runkle

Dorloo- Gordon E. Runkle, 88, formerly of Dorloo and Esperance, died Sunday, May 13, 2019, after a brief illness in Silsbee, TX.

Born May 12, 1931 in Carlisle, he was the son of Herbert C. and Marian (Glennon) Runkle.

Gordon graduated from the former Cobleskill Central School, class of 1949 and a 1951 graduate of SUNY-Morrisville. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country from 1952 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1955.

Gordon retired from Carmen Trucking of Albany. He was of protestant faith. Gordon served on the Seward Valley Cemetery Board for several years.

He married Martha Neville on July 28, 1951 and she predeceased him on April 22. 2014.

Survivors include his children:  Brenda (Dennis) Zicha, Doreen (David) Freeman and Vincent Runkle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday June 18, at 11 AM at Seward Valley Cemetery, Dorloo.
