Gordon Emerson

Cobleskill- Gordon P. Emerson, 69, of Grandview Drive, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness.

He was born September 16, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of J. Perry and Jean (Chase) Emerson.

Gordon was a 1966 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central High School and a 1970 graduate of Ithaca College. He worked as a Master Control Engineer for WMHT-TV PBS until his retirement in June of 2005. He was also the President of the Schoharie County Conservation Association, active with SCHOPEG Access and a member of the Fusion Community Church.

A brother, Norman Emerson, predeceased him.

Two sisters survive Gordon: Catherine McKenna of Sequim, WA and Sarah Davis of Port Angeles, WA.

A funeral service will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill with Rev. Andrew Fetter, of Fusion Community Church, officiating. There will be no public calling hours. He will be inurned with his relatives in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
