Middleburgh- Gloria M. VanAller, 95, formerly of Middleburgh, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany where she had been a resident for the past five years.
Born April 16, 1919 in Manhattan, she was the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Urrey) Papp.
Gloria retired from the Middleburgh Central School after more than twenty years of being a study hall advisor. She had also been a dispatcher for Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corp. She had worked at the former Patent in East Cobleskill and with her husband, Victor, as an antique dealer.
Gloria was a member of the Middleburgh United Methodist Church and its women's circle, as well as the Middleburgh Golden Age Club.
Her husband, Victor, predeceased her on November 20, 1992.
Survivors include her two children: Linda (John) VanAller Hernick of Rensselaerville, and Barry (Joanne) VanAller of Middleburgh; two grandchildren: Barry (Valerie) VanAller of Middleburgh and Kelly (Timothy) Preston of Middleburgh; and two great-grandchildren: Emma Lee and Tanner VanAller.
A private funeral service will be held at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with Rev. Carol Coltrain of Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. Private burial will be in the spring in Breakabeen Cemetery.
