Gladys Mulbury

Schoharie- Gladys Mulbury, 94, formerly of Schoharie, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 2, 2013 at her granddaughter's home following a brief illness.

Born July 31, 1919 in Freehold, she was the daughter of Frank and Lottie (Bates) Hilliker.

During her married life, she and her husband lived in Schoharie and operated apple orchards on Rickard Hill. She was a member of the former Open Bible Baptist Church.

For the past few years Gladys lived in Cobleskill at Woodland Apartments and most recently with her granddaughter in Hammerstone Village Apartments.

Her joy was her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Marvin, and a son, John Mulbury.

Survivors include her two daughters: Nancy (Leslie) Hardy of Raleigh, NC, and Margaret Mulbury of Albany; a daughter-in-law: Cecelia Mulbury of Millen, GA; eight grandchildren: Jean Osborne, Helen Hacker, Diane Arnold, Sharon McLasky, Phyllis Arroyo, Dawn Fritz, Deborah Rodgers, and Karen Berube; sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with Rev. Shawn Foster of the Valley Bible Baptist Church officiating. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will follow in Potter Hollow Cemetery.
