Middleburgh- Mrs. Gladys Loucks, 82, of Ecker Hollow Road, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
Born January 1, 1927 in the Town of Wright, she was the daughter of Frederick and Grace (Alger) Shultes.
Mrs. Loucks was a lifelong area resident and at one time was employed at the Alpine Meat Market in Middleburgh. She was a member of the Schoharie American Legion Post # 1261 Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church in Middleburgh.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Loucks, who died December 29, 2003.
Survivors include her foster son, Virgil (Caroline) Pangburn of Middleburgh; two Grandsons, Robert (Carol) Pangburn and their daughter Gabriella of Fayetteville, NC, and Andrew Pangburn of Middleburgh; a sister, Ruth Przysiecki of Sharon Springs; a niece, Judy St. Hedley of Albany; three nephews, Tom (Kathy) Przysiecki of Schoharie and their children, Barry (Sharon) Przysiecki of Schoharie and their children, and Michael Loucks of Schoharie, along with two other nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Mary Loucks of Middleburgh and Leona Loucks of Schoharie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 4, 2009 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY with Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Middleburgh Cemetery.
