Middleburgh- Giuseppi Agostino, 80, of Main St., died Friday, January 6, 2012 at Albany Medical Center following a short illness.
Born March 20, 1931 in Calabria, Italy, he was a son of Carmelo and Maria (Bruzzese) Agostino.
Giuseppe was raised on the family farm in Italy and came to the New York City area in 1970. A hard worker all his life, he enjoyed being in the restaurant business keeping busy in the kitchen preparing foods and dishwashing.
For the past thirteen years he has lived in the Cobleskill area and most recently Middleburgh, where he assisted his daughter and son-in-law with their restaurants.
Giuseppi was predeceased by his wife, Nancy, in 1978.
Survivors include his four children: Angela (Ralph) Mordocco of Warnerville, Phyllis (Joe) La Fuci of Dix Hills, Maria Marr of Brooklyn, and Carmine Agostino of Deer Park; three siblings: Phyllis Marano of Florida, Nick Agostino of Brooklyn and Louie Agostino of New Jersey; and eleven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Charles' Resurrection Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Calling hours will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or American Diabetes Assoc.
