Jefferson- Gisela A. Haviland, 85, of Westkill Road, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at her residence following a long illness.
Born August 6, 1929 in East Berlin, Germany, she came to the United States as a young woman.
For many years, Gisela was a mailroom clerk at the Guide Post in Carmel, NY. She and her husband moved from Brewster to Westkill Road following retirement. While living here, she was a member of the Senior Citizens of Schoharie and the German Club.
Gisela found pleasure in tending to her flower gardens, watching the birds, and she loved all animals.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard B. Haviland; her daughter: Sylvia Pinerio of Jefferson; six grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St. Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
