Gertrude Gallo

Stamford - Gertrude Haddon Gallo, 89, formerly of Stamford, NY, passed away Jan. 16, 2011 at her home in Ocala, FL following a brief illness.

Gertrude was born November 17, 1921 in Grand Gorge, NY and was the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Moseman) Haddon.

She was a homemaker for most her life. Gertrude and her mother, Elsie, moved from the Grand Gorge and Stamford areas to Ocala, Fl 30 years ago. While living in Florida, Gertrude worked as the manager of a dress shop and also at a fabric shop. Her talent was displayed in the making of her own clothes, suits, coats and draperies.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; son, Paul; brother, Eugene; mother, Elsie ((Moseman); and father, Albert (Mike) Haddon.

Surviving family are her grandson: Brian Gallo of Prattsville, NY; her sister: Marjorie Sperbeck of Richmondville, NY, and her sister-in-law: Agnes Haddon of Scotia, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Prattsville, NY with Rev. Victor Zaccaro officiating.
