Gertrude Cary

Cobleskill- Mrs. Gertrude M. Cary, 91, formerly of Cobleskill, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Lake Worth Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Lake Worth, FL.
Mrs. Cary was born December 29, 1915 in East Worcester, NY, the daughter of Emerson and Myra (Truax) Acker.
She was a lifelong area resident of Cobleskill before moving to be with her daughter 3 1/2 years ago in Lantana, FL. Mrs. Cary was an inspector for 32 years at the former Van Deusen Dress Factory in Cobleskill and also a homemaker. She attended the Wesleyan Church on Legion Drive in Cobleskill.
Mark H. Cary, Jr., her husband, predeceased her Sept. 22, 1989 and her son, Mark H. Cary III, who died in 1982.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol J. Noll of Lantana, FL.;7 grandchildren: Kevin Post of Ava, NY, Teresa Snyder of Sullivan, IN, Michelle Doyle of Willit, CA, Deborah Cary of Fonda, NY, Diana Marotta of Tribes Hill, NY, Mark Cary IV of Fonda, NY, and Brian Cary, 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a brother of 95 years old, Leon Acker, and a sister of 98 years old, Ina Grover.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, Nov. 26, at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with Rev. Donald Klob officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
