Hyndsville - Gertrude Brumaghim, 85, of State Route 10, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown following a brief illness.
Born August 23, 1924 in Germany, she was a daughter of Henry and Emma Zank.
Gertrude was employed as a bookkeeper for twenty-five years at White Sulfur Baths in Sharon Springs.
She attended Hyndsville United Methodist Church for many years. Gertrude enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John A. Lane, who died in 1969.
Survivors include her husband, Louis S. Brumaghim, whom she married April 24, 1971; her children: Susan (Edward) All of Seward, Jonnie-Jo Rolfe of Seward, Diane Vrooman of Carlisle, Kathleen (Anthony) Kulesza of Seward, Melvin Lane of Medford, NY, and Elizabeth Olsen of Central Bridge; her sister, Bettie Barr of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Officiating will be David Houck of the Hyndsville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Zion Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Friday.
