Carlisle- Gerard Farace, 70, of State Highway 20, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a short illness.
Born February 9, 1944 in Concord, NC, he was the son of Michael and Elenta (Richardson) Farace.
Gerard served in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1961 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1963.
He was a truck driver for Green's Trucking in Amsterdam.
Gerard is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Sherry (Matranga) Farace and extended family.
All services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
