North Blenheim- Gerald R. Felter, 56, of State Route 30 died unexpectedly Monday, May 12, 2014 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

Gerald was born on March 8, 1958 in Cobleskill to Marjorie (Miller) and Robert Felter.

Gerald attended Gilboa-Conesvile and Middleburgh Central Schools . He was employed as the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Blenheim for the last eighteen years.

Gerald enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed and he especially enjoyed sharing a good laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Van Dyke) Felter of North Blenheim, whom he married on August 7, 2004 and his daughter: Dorothy Lee (Glen Gifford) of Rensselaerville; parents: Marjorie and Robert Felter of West Fulton; brothers: Donald (Nadine) Felter of Schoharie, Wayne (Janet) Felter of Franklin Square; granddaughter: Rose (Tim) Schrowang of Greenville; sisters-in-law: Christine Gooler, Victoria Miller, Suzie (Larry) Bliss and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St. Middleburgh, NY. Rev. Neil Irwin of the North Blenheim United Methodist Church will officiate. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00am-12:00pm, prior to the service. Cremation took place at Vale Crematory in Schenectady.
