George Schwab

George W. Schwab, 78, of Hubbard Road, died Sunday February 1, 2009 at the Countryside Care Center in Delhi, NY following a brief illness.

Mr. Schwab was born in on August 6, 1930 in Union City, NJ a son of the late Anna (Forest) and William Schwab. He served in the United States Navy from 1953 -1955 and worked for Megatronics in Port Washington, NY. Mr. Schwab enjoyed watching boxing on the television, playing golf and pool, and wintering in Ruskin, Fl. He also enjoyed visiting Bush Gardens and looked forward to their yearly Christmas card.

Mr. Schwab is survived by his daughter, Joanne Kleitgen of Gilboa, NY, granddaughter, Amanda Kleitgen of Gilboa, NY, adopted grandson, Joshua Delude of Cohoes, NY, sister-in-law, Dorothy Anne Williamson of Merrick, NY, brother-in-law, Donald Williamson of Merrick, NY, nieces, Diane Wood and family of Massapequa, NY, and Susan Manning and family of South Huntington, NY and a nephew, Donald Williamston and family of Wantaugh, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday February 4, 2009, at St. Catherine's Church, Main St., Middleburgh, NY. Father Paul Engel will be celebrant. Burial will take place Thursday, February 5, 2009 in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. There will be no calling hours.
