George Long
Cobleskill-George P. Long, 88, of Hammerstone Village Apartments, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Otsego Manor, following a brief illness.
Born March 20, 1921 in Brooklyn, George was a son of Richard and Mary (Coombs) Long. He was one of fifteen children.
Mr. Long retired from Stony Brook University in Long Island, where he was employed in the maintenance department.
He moved to Cobleskill seventeen years ago, after residing in North Carolina.
Survivors include his six children: Cynthia Long-Raterron of Lille, France, Kenneth Long of Cobleskill, George Long, Jr. of Centereach, Dennis Long of Minorville, Jeffrey Long of Deer Park, Timothy Long of Port Jefferson; a brother, Michael Long of Long Island; and ten grandchildren.
Services will be private at the family's request.
