George G. Hoop, Jr., 79 of State Route 30, died Sat. Nov. 17, 2007 at his Granddaughter's home, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hoop was born Dec. 25, 1927 in New York, NY a son of the late George G. Hoop, Sr. and Gertrute Peterson. Mr. Hoop served in the Army, during Word War II and later worked in the construction field, at General Electric, and finally, as a mechanic at the former Northeast Motors in Central Bridge. Mr. Hoop enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and talking on the CB Radio. He was also a former member of the V.F.W. Post #1261 in Middleburgh.
Mr. Hoop was married to Helen E. Bouck on June 27, 1975. She predeceased him on May 13, 2006. He was also predeceased by a son, Mitchell A. Hoop and 2 sisters, Auga and Dorothy Hoop. He is survived by:

A Funeral service will be held on Tues. Nov. 20, 2007 at 2 P.M. at the Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Rev. Carol Coltrain will officiate. A calling hour will be from 1-2 P.M. , prior to the service. Cremation will place at the Vale Crematorium in Schenectady, NY. Burial of the cremains will be in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Loudonville, NY 12211.
