Dorloo- George A. Harragan, 85, of State Route 165, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness.
Born September 6, 1926, he was the son of George and Margaret (Peters) Harragan.
George was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II from 1944 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. He was a member of the VFW Post #5088 in Cobleskill
He was employed for twenty-five years as maintenance supervisor for SUNY Cobleskill retiring in 1989.
George was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed bowling in the Senior Citizens League and was also an avid NY Giants fan.
His wife, Elizabeth, predeceased him on March 9, 2010.
Survivors include his two daughters: Catherine (Max) Rua of Cobleskill, Debra Harragan of Palisades, NJ; his son: George Harragan of Cherry Valley; and his sister: Charlotte Schimkat of Maryland, NY.
Services will be private for the family.
