Gene Cooper

Cobleskill- Gene A. Cooper, 58 of Bridge St., died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at his residence.

Born February 4, 1962 in Cobleskill he was the son of the late Charles and Velma (Wayman) Cooper.

For the past twenty-seven years, Gene was a cook at the Cobleskill Diner.  In his free time, he enjoyed drawing and gardening, but most of all, spending time with his granddaughters.

Survivors include his three sons:  Joshua J. Cooper and Jacob Cooper both of Cobleskill and Joseph Cooper of California; two granddaughters:  Janaja and Nevaeh Cooper of Schoharie; three brothers:  Charles Cooper III of Cobleskill, Michael Cooper of Worcester, and Tim Cooper, along with several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 10AM to 11AM on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 1717 Elm St., Cobleskill.  A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Evergreen Section.  Face coverings and social distancing will be respected by all.
