Friedel Karl

Middleburgh- Friedel "Fred" Karl, 80, of Bixby Road, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at his residence with his family at his side.

Born March 20, 1932 in Germany, he was the son of Johann and Frieda (Keim) Karl. Fred was a self employed cabinet maker all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Anneliese (Scherg) Karl; his two children: Linda (Eric) Rodriguez of Virginia Beach, VA, and Peter (Donna) Karl of Glastenbury, CT; six grandchildren: Jessica, Anthony, Nicole, Joseph, Daniel and Victoria; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Officiating will be Father Thomas Holmes of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Middleburgh. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM, Tues.
