Richmondville- Freddie Sperbeck, 87, of Richmondville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Palatine Bridge Nursing Home.
Mr. Sperbeck was born April 8, 1921, the son of Fred and Elda (Van Buren) Sperbeck.
He was a lifelong area resident and retired from Chemical Leaman, Howes Cave, as a truck driver and mechanic. His hobby was that of stock car driving.
He was predeceased by his wife, Justine (Betty) Sperbeck, who died May of 2001, and a son, Michael Sperbeck who died June of 1996.
Survivors include his 4 children: Susan Robinson of Woodbury, TN, Kathy Hall of Walland, TN, Robert F. Sperbeck of Richmondville, and David, "Scott" Sperbeck of Richmondville; 2 sisters: Alice Boynton of Cobleskill and Doris Constantino of Rotterdam; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23, 2008 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with a calling hour preceding the service from 10 to 11 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Marvin Batcher of Richmondville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery.
