Cobleskill- Frank J. Mazzariello, Jr., 78, of Barnerville Road, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, following a brief illness.
Frank was born on August 14, 1936 in Staten Island, NY to Theresa (Albana) and Frank J. Mazzariello, Sr.
He attended the McKee Vocational Technical High School in Staten Island. Following graduation, Frank served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1963 and was stationed in Germany.
After his honorable discharge, Frank worked on tugboats for the B & O Railroad before moving to Richmondville. He then worked for several years as a Deputy with the Schoharie County Sheriff's Department before retiring to Florida. In Florida, he returned to work as a truck driver for Hard Drive in West Palm Beach.
Frank returned to Cobleskill in 2006 to be closer to his family, whom he cherished.
He enjoyed coin collecting and building bird and dollhouses for his family.
Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and positive attitude in the face of his illness. He drew inspiration from his favorite song, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." He also had fond memories of all of his friends and a special place in his heart for his childhood friend, Carol.
