Cobleskill - Frank Knapp Jr. died peacefully on Wednesday, December 20,2006 at Eden Park Nursing Home where he resided for the past four months. Born Febuary 25,1917 in Seward, NY, son of Frank and Lula Knapp. Frank was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army's European Tour.
A welder by trade, he was employed by Van Wagenen and Sons, Remington Rand, and retired from the State University of New York at Cobleskill. He enjoyed camping, boating, and wintering in Florida. A true craftsman, he was challenged by anything that needed repairs.
He was predeceased by his wife Harriett and son Daniel. He is survived by his children, Kathryne and Timothy Simmons, Douglas and Barbara Knapp, grandson Joshua Simmons, Daniel's children, Tara, Kimberly and Ryan and their families, and his extended family Mary Jane and Angelo Buccheri and their children.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with the Rev. Jared van Wagenen IV officiating. Friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM on Sat. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
