Cobleskill- Frank Madl, Jr., 88, of State Route 10, Cobleskill, died Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown following a brief illness.
Born on May 26, 1934 in Cobleskill, NY, he was the son of Frank Madl, Sr. and Marjorie Stanton Madl. He was a graduate of Cobleskill High School, Class of 1952 and was a lifelong area resident.
Frank served in the Army Reserves and was a member of the former Schoharie County Tac Force and Rescue Squad. In his younger years he loved to bowl and hunt.
He worked for Loft Lumber Mill in Worcester, Penn Dixie, and was a farmer for many years. He enjoyed helping his son-in-law with field work and making maple syrup.
His was predeceased by his first wife,Joan (Schmeidel) Cummings and his second,Janis (Conway) Madl; siblings, Mary Chase, John Madl, George Madl; son-in-law, William "Billy" Ward, Jr. and granddaughter, Stacey Lynn Ward.
Frank is survived by his children, Joe Madl of Cobleskill, NY, Deb Ward of Cobleskill, NY, George (Donna) Madl of Freehold, NY, Tina (Cliff) Cooper of Cobleskill, NY, Terry (Ed) Bradt, Jr. of Cobleskill, NY, Elliot (Caitlyn) Madl of Palmyra, VA, Francine Madl of Albany, NY; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Nicoletti of Katy, TX.
A graveside service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Patria Cemetery in the Town of Fulton. Officiating will be Robert Stark. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held from 3PM to 7 PM at the Elks Lodge #2040, 152 Legion Drive, Cobleskill.
