Frank Falsarella

Sharon Springs- Frank V. Falsarella, 83, of State Route 20, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side.

Born December 27, 1927 in Venice, Italy, he was the son of Antonio and Luisa (Populin) Falsarella and came to the United States in February of 1938.

Frank was a United States Army veteran, proudly serving from 1945 until his discharge in 1946. He resided in Paramus, NJ for twenty-six years before moving to Sharon Springs in 1978.

Frank married Evelyn Monton of Elmwood Park, NJ on July 13, 1957 in St. Leo's Church in Elmwood Park, NJ. He founded F & M Parlor Frame Corp. in 1970, which brought his favorite hobby of woodworking into his everyday life.

While living in Sharon Springs he was a member of the Sharon Springs Volunteer Rescue Squad, the American Legion Post 1269 where he served as past Commander, and the Sharon Springs Rotary Club, serving as past President.

Above all, his family was his pride and joy, spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren.

Frank was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church of Cobleskill.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Evelyn (Monton) Falsarella; his three children: Father Anthony J. Falsarella of Beacon, NY, Joseph F. (Irene) Falsarella of Sharon Springs, and Mary Louise (Randy) Broadwell, DVM of Sprakers; seven grandchildren: Joseph C. (Holly) Falsarella of Sharon Springs, Ann Marie Falsarella of Peekskill, John Falsarella of Sharon Springs, Schuyler Broadwell of Sprakers, Julianne Broadwell of Sprakers, Randi Broadwell of Sprakers, and Gene Broadwell of Sprakers; a great-grandson, Nolan Falsarella of Sharon Springs; and his sister, Elsa Polesel of Sharon Springs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Burial will follow with military honors at Slate Hill Cemetery, Sharon. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, Nov. 18 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
