Mr. Gleason was born on June 29, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY a son of Thomas and Helen McGrath Gleason. He was a retired Dock Supervisor for Maersk Shipping Lines in Port Newark, NJ. He served with the US Marine Corp. from 1943 to 1945 with duty posts in Saipan, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church in Middleburgh and a member of the International Longshoreman Association Local #1 in New York, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at St. Catherine's Church Main Street Middleburgh with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Friends may call from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, September 12, at Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home 134 River St. Middleburgh. Burial will be in Breakabeen Cemetery.
