Florence Falzarano

Cobleskill- Florence R. Falzarano, 91, of Cobleskill, NY, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her loved ones by her side.
Born in Hyndsville, NY on July 12, 1931, Florence was the daughter of the late Ruth (Coons) Blythe and Harry Blythe.
Florence married A. Thomas Falzarano on November 9, 1952. They shared 65 beautiful years together until his passing on March 8, 2018.
Florence graduated from the former Cobleskill Central School. She worked for General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY for 8 years. She then worked at Sterling Insurance Co. in Cobleskill as a receptionist and Executive Secretary for 26 years, retiring in 1989.
For over 50 years, Florence and Tom loved vacationing in Hampton Beach, NH and Ogunquit, ME. They especially cherished the time they spent with family in Ogunquit, ME going to the beach, walking the Marginal Way and of course eating lobster.
Florence's favorite place was her backyard, where she meticulously maintained her perennial garden. All that knew her, knew that she loved "digging in the dirt". She already had been planning what she was going to plant in her flower garden this summer.
Florence's other passion was tracing her family history. She had traced her ancestors back to 1753, when they came here from Germany and settled in Schoharie County.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Ron Filmer, Jr. of Cobleskill. She was the very proud grandmother of Steven Filmer of Portland, ME and Nicole L. Filmer of Chicago, IL.
Florence's family would like to say a special thank you to her loving caregivers, whom she truly loved as if they were her family, Linda and Susie. Also thank you to Dr. Strasser for the wonderful care and compassion he showed to Florence and her family, especially over the last 2 months.
A graveside memorial service for family and friends will take place at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10 AM with Father Joseph Arockiasomy officiating. There will be no public calling hours.
