Middleburgh- Filomena Riker died at her home in Middleburgh on Thursday, September 26, 2013.

She was born on January 6, 1924 in Naples, Italy, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Giovanna Ambrosino. Filomena came to this country in 1946 as an Italian war bride. She and her husband Walter Thomas Riker settled in Queens, NY. In 1958 they moved to Malverne, Long Island, where they raised their family.

She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery, but most importantly she cherished time spent with her loving family. She was predeceased by Walter Riker, her husband of fifty years.

She is survived by her three children: Janet Riker and her husband, Michael Marston; Linda Riker Filiberto; and Harry Riker and his wife, Angela; as well as her grandchildren: Philip Marston, Richard Filiberto and his wife Amanda Schaller, and Walter and Eric Riker.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 7 to 9 PM at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.

The family is grateful for all the support and kind wishes of the family and friends.
