Middleburgh: Evaleen Doty, 98, of Bouck Rd., died peacefully, Friday, May 27, 2011, following a long illness.

Evaleen was born in Hyndsville on December 31, 1912 a daughter of Esther (Curtis) and Harley H. Lawyer.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, sewing and making crafts. She adored her family, extended family and friends.

Evaleen was a member of the Schoharie County Hayshakers, the Shunpikers, the Middleburgh Golden Age Club and the Middleburgh United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her first husband: Hezekiah Rivenburg, Sr. on March 23, 1953 and her second husband: Perry Doty on January 11, 1978; her son: Hezekiah Rivenburg, Jr. on May 2, 1981; grandson: Jason Rivenburg on March 5, 2009; sister Laurie Shepard and brother: Clinton J. Lawyer.

Evaleen is survived by her daughters: Sadie Nikolaus of Sharon Springs, Hilda Kernozek of Voorheesville; son: Philip G. Rivenburg, Sr. of Middleburgh; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and several half brothers and sisters.

A Funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday June 3, 2011 at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Fr. Raymond Donahue of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church will co-officiate. Burial will follow in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 9am - 10am Friday, prior to the service.
